Más de 20 mil atletas participaron en la Ciudad de México en la justa deportiva más emblemática del Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) y Canal Once, la 18ª edición de la carrera IPN ONCE K 2026 con el lema “Un legado en movimiento”.
La fiesta deportiva se llevó a cabo en el marco del Día del Politécnico y los 90 años de la fundación del IPN, en la que, como cada año, los participantes pusieron su corazón y entrega para cruzar la meta, en uno de los inmuebles insignia de más importancia del deporte guinda y blanco: el estadio “Wilfrido Massieu”, en la Unidad Profesional “Adolfo López Mateos”, en Zacatenco.
A un costado del estadio, previo al inicio de la competencia, los participantes y público asistente entonaron el Himno Nacional, el cual dio pie a la cuenta regresiva para que a las 6:15 de la mañanadiera inicio la categoría de 5 kilómetros (ramas femenil y varonil).
Al término de la competencia que duró aproximadamente 45 minutos, se alzaron con el triunfo, el primer lugar, Naomi Tolentino Solís; segundo, Romary San Román Hernández Martínez y, tercero, Regina Robles Castillo.
En la rama varonil el primer sitio fue para Ulises Adrián Loza Cruz;el segundo para David Núñez Gómez, y el tercero para Uriel Romero de la Cruz.
En punto de las 6:35, tocó el turno a los atletas de la carrera de 11 kilómetros a espaldas de Canal Once, en el Casco de Santo Tomás, en la alcaldía Miguel Hidalgo, la cual tuvo una duración aproximadade una hora con 45 minutos.
Los ganadores de esta categoría fueron Brandon Hernández Bárcenas, en primer lugar; Axel Alejandro Árcega Arellano, en segundo, y en tercero, Alejandro Alejandre Sánchez.
En tanto que en la rama femenil el primer lugar fue para Sonia Laguna López; el segundo para Selene Martínez Ávila, mientras que Estefany Velázquez Rodríguez llegó en tercer sitio.
A las 6:40 tocó el turno para la salida del medio maratón (21 kilómetros) frente al Estadio “Wilfrido Massieu”, que culminó en un tiempo de alrededor de tres horas.
Los ganadores de esta gran carrera femenil fueron: primer lugar,Kathia Mirell García Barrios; segundo, Claudia Ixchel Rico Hernández, y tercero, Patricia Trujillo Herrera.
En la rama varonil el primer lugar fue para Emmanuel Ángel Reyes Montes; el segundo para David Sánchez Ramírez y el tercero para Darío Castro Pérez.
Al final de la justa deportiva, la banda mexicana de rock and roll y rockabilly “Eddie y los grasosos” amenizó la llegada de los participantes al igual que el grupo ”Las Finísimas Personas”, en un ambiente de fiesta que disfrutaron tanto competidores como sus acompañantes
